Did I hear someone knocking???
Well, yes, I have been up since 5:30.  I find that if I don’t get up and get my morning’s work done before going downstairs it just doesn’t get done.  And I HATE going to my room at night and finding the bed unmade.  Certain Man laughs at me because I will make it before I get into it because those rumpled covers just BOTHER me.  Yes, well, we all have our idiosyncrasies.  Another one I have is that the closet door must be SHUT before I can really sleep.  I started that early in our marriage because I thought it bothered Certain Man.  Found out later that he shut it because he thought it bothered me. Now we are both crazy together and have to have it closed before we can really sleep.  It must be TRADITION, I guess.  (I’m pretty sure that it has nothing with obsessive/compulsive disorder.)
But the real question of the hour — Did the change in the bed covers aid the sleep process?  Absolutely!   I slept like a rock.  (Of course, the fact that my tooth did not hurt, that I had a day when I hardly had time to think, and a later than anticipated bedtime probably figured into it.)  However, I had a much better feeling inside whenever I thought of those familiar blankets and the good rest that awaited me.  So there you have it, gals.  Half the sleep problems in the world would be fixed if people would just haul out their old blankets and bedspreads and be content.
And on that note, I leave you to get on with a day that promises to be beautiful.  I heard on NPR this morning that they expect Delaware to hit the 60’s today, temp wise.  What was that old saying about March “In like a lamb, out like a lion?”  We may have some reckoning to do yet.
       Blessings for a wonderful day!

  1. I am so happy for you that you had a good nights sleep!! I am sure the day looks beautiful in part because of being well-rested! On gardening in Kansas: March 17 is usually when we put out potaotes, etc, but it has been so warm here that I decided to risk planting this early. In the back of mind, I wonder…is there still a winter storm lurking out there, just waiting to pounce on my tender little green shoots? But, no, of course not! This is my year to shine, after all!!!

  2. And you Dear Friend are indeed a blessing!

  3. Glad you slept well.  We had a Major Situation here last evening … but, you know, the Lord was faithful once again.  Whenever I’d wake, I’d just tell Our Precious Jesus the problem is too big for me, but not to big for Him, and He tenderly put me right back to sleep.  Loved your early morning post.

  4. Glad your blanket scheme gave you a good nights sleep!!!  I hope you are wrong about the in like a lamb out like a lion! Actually the first few days of March were cold here so maybe we had an in like a lion and we will go out like a lamb!!

  5. Boy I will sleep better to night knowing the good end to that story!  =D

  6. i have parkinsons disease or a form of it. my doc told me last visit she thought it could be msa (multiple systems atrophy), it does not respond to parkinsons medicine. i was diagonised in 2000. my first symptom was my handwriting became smaller and then illegible. this began in 1997. then in 2002 i began to fall. i have dislocated my right shoulder seven times by catching myself with my arms. i need to be very careful from now on. my husband has been a gem to do all the cooking and cleaning, washing and ironing for the last 8 or 9 months. i really dont know what to expect with this disease but what i read about it on the web it isnt too promising. i retired from teaching in 2004. i really wasnt ready to but i could no longer write on the board or write comments on papers etc. there u have it. my “organ recital” as dominie calls them.

  7. hmm…i always heard “in like a lion, out like a lamb”…??…who knows, but maybe, just maybe, we’ve seen the worst of our winter weather! here’s hoping!
    have a lovely evening. :]

  8. So glad the solution worked for you!  And you’re not the only one that has to have the bed made….I’ll make it rght before I get in it as well!  I just don’t sleep as well if it isn’t made when I get in it.  πŸ˜‰ ~Erica

  9. Miss Brooks, my beautiful sister, I wish your sleep problems could be solved so easily.I hope your disclosure  makes BEG and all who follow her site know how difficult life has become for you. You are an inspiration to me in how you handle your difficulties. What we have all grown so accustomed to and take for granted can so easily be taken from us. I would hope that I would be as inspiring and noncomplaining as you.

  10. So far we have escaped the Lt Trache, and hopefully we will continue to do so.  Have a great day.

So…  you can’t sleep without the covers made.. I can’t sleep when it is made properly…. I’m glad everyone is different..haha.  Oh hey did Karen say any good things about me..?

  14. Yes, I’m afraid that cleaning lady is the only one I can get ahold of most days! But never fear, she took many breaks in between her cleaning and didn’t even finish it all in one day.  I even talked her into raking some leaves, which felt really good in this marvelous sunshine!

  15. It seems my siblings really doubt my ability to say anything nice about them…..oh well, I love them regardless.
