spring, 2006001

And then it looked like this?

WELL . . .

I transplanted the tulips and replanted the barrel.

Last night, Delaware got some much needed rain.
And this morning. . .

this is what my barrel looks like:

Barrel of flowers

Thank-you, Heavenly Father, for the blessing of rain.

  1. Did all those blossoms suddenly bloom, or are you just showing a  figurative demonstration?

  2. They were blooming before, but they look so much better since the rain.  And they are REAL.

  3. I am so happy that you got some much needed rain! I walked out in my garden this morning, and thought of your drought. Earlier this year, up until about 3 weeks ago or so, we were desperate for rain, too. Now, it has been raining enough that we don’t have to irrigate our gardens right now, the last time I irrigated was last Friday. Such a blessing to get rain when it’s needed so badly.
My empty house is really getting ‘more empty’ with each passing day. I definately am not ready for the empty nest syndrome! Tomorrow night my girls all come back home.

  4. The flowers look great. My hubby has been in PA and he said it rained most of the time he was there. He was in Carlise, PA. We certainly appreciate it when we get it here. So far this is the first summer in ages that mowing the grass was a pleasure with lush green grass to mow and scent the air so sweeetly.

  5. Beautiful flowers in your barrel.  And, Amen for the rain.  Even now as I write.

  6. Lovely!!!   Glad you got some rain it is raining here again right now!!

  7. In one week I shall indeed see your youngest son! I look forward to having the team here and putting the actual persons to their names! I shall greet him with great warmth, in honor of his mother.

  8. Any reference to me and fruitcake in the same sentence I choose to politely ignore!

  9. Very nice.  I too am very thankful for the rain—I could do without all the lightening and thunder (makes my little ones on edge, and tends to strike the feedbins frequently) but I love having rain again.  I guess we will be mowing this week.

  10. BEG RE: that comment you left on my site , does that mean you are not getting a nap today lol Have a nice weekend!

  11. I hope you come through the weekend with your sanity intact! How do you keep everyone schedules staight?

  12. Beautiful!!  I too was glad for the rain, just wished it could’ve come in a little more softly!  ~Erica

  13. I have news for you from a far country! The camp my daughters were at this week had a Reach team come in and do a drama on their last evening there. I asked them if there was a Lem along, and they confirmed that indeed, there was a guy named Lem as well as Jeremy, Sarah etc….I think the team moved on this morning, we’ll see them in less than a week.
