Blessed Sunday

We had a good Sunday morning, with being together with fellow believers at church.  Our family had the privilege of being host family yesterday, so we invited a family who has been attending our church off and on for the past month or so. We had such a good time, and they were wonderful guests.

And then it was time for an afternoon Grad party, flying home for evening service at church, and then out to Mama’s for the “first Sunday Night of the Month” gathering.  We had a sweet turnout, though Mark Jr.’s are in Albania, and Eldest Son had gone to Alabama for a friend’s wedding.  The rest of us greatly enjoyed our time together.  It is hard to believe that we are coming up on six months since Daddy left for Heaven . . .

There were four on the couch!  We are so tickled to have Chip and Susan around for the summer.  And Cheryl and Jeremy haven’t missed a single “1st Sunday Night” gathering (At least I  don’t think so!)  On the right is Cheryl and Aunt Frieda.  They really weren’t as somber as they look!

This is Youngest Sister, Alma.  She always has her hands in the work somehow, and is almost never still.  What would we dowithout her???  On the right, Frieda is looking at the yummy fruit pizza that someone made.  It got all.

Our latest Graduate, Maria.  We all had a  splendid time at her grad and party just the night before.  I did kinda catch her off guard.  Sorry, Maria!  On the right, is my Eldest Brother, Clint.  He is much against cameras of every kind and in every situation.  And this picture will not help his attitude any, I assure you.

Sunday night at Grandma's house -- Christopher

Christopher arrived home from seeing his special friend while we were there together.  Details were not much forth coming, but with a face like that, who needed them????  (And for those of you who might be interested, that is Blind Linda in the background.)

  1. thanks for sharing oh the joy of having a big family that lives so close makes me a little jealous!

  2. Fruit pizza?  My mouth is watering.  Beautiful gathering.
Glad your chickens are going to be out of your hands soon giving you  a respite.

  3. I am glad that the majority of you live close by and are able to be such a support to each other.  I am sure your mother is very grateful for it too.

  4. I do really enjoy your pictures and love feeling like I am getting acquainted with your family! Your time with your Mother is so precious. What comfort it must be for her to have you folks so attentive. RYC: How long have you folks raised chickens? Do you have strict DNR regulations in your state? The hog confinements in Iowa have very strict regulations to follow. The waste is spread on the fields, a process that lingers in the air for miles around and angers some. Not far from Brent’s farm is a hog confinement set up but they have never had any complaints about it, ‘Course there is a big difference between hogs and chickens!

  5. I enjoyed your last two entries – this one because of the photos that went with the story, and the previous one about your rainy day excursion!

  6. Always love your pictures ’cause I know nearly everyone.  Thank you again so much for coming Friday evening.  It was such a joy to have you and Chris … though I cringed for you about the outing in the storm.  What would she have done if she, like us, lived hours away from any family the first years of our marriage?  I often think how much we take for granted when family are close by.    Blessings on your day.

  7. BEG, I have followed your directions carefully, and given YS a hug and admonitions to call his Mother! I hope they can successfully relax during this ‘vacation’ time. I believe I took him by surprise when I demanded to see “Lem” and declared that I was to give him a hug from you! I forgot to tell him who I was, mainly because I knew who he was, and forgot that he didn’t know who I was! I don’t think my girls will let me forget that very soon!
Thank you so much for your prayers for my Mama! Her name is Wilma and I know she will be encouraged to know that she is being prayed for! Likewise we will pray for your Mama and the loneliness she is experiencing.
