We got home on Friday night after traveling over a thousand miles in about 36 hours, and sitting through re-entry stuff at Rosedale Bible Institute.  My poor tailbone had an ache that I decided to label
“Sit-for-a-thousand-miles-syndrome”

But Certain Man’s and my Youngest Son is home for just a brief time — He leaves again on Wednesday morning to go to Ryan Kauffman and Sabrina Beachy’s wedding in Indiana.  From there, he heads to Cedarville College for his sophmore year.
How very much we are treasuring these days!

And then, in less than two weeks, Eldest Son leaves for Discipleship Training in Columbus for three months before leaving for a six month term in Nepal.
While we treasure the days, we also count them.
How very much I will miss this
Eldest Son!

And all of these things are contigient upon one thing.

“If the LORD WILLS”

If you see me and there is something glaringly amiss, do not panic.   (It is all part of the shell-shock!)

  1. I didn’t notice anything “glaringly amiss” this morning! I’m glad we are friends. Know that I will be praying for you as you “ponder” and “treasure” this time as family and store these things in your heart for later consideration and comfort.  Love you, lm

  2. I had to laugh at your “sit-a-thousand-mile-syndrome”! On Saturday I was reading some of my diaries of car trips we took back in the 80’s. In 1985 we and our three biological kids drove to Milford, NE in two days time to visit my penpal; from there we drove down to Wellington, KS to visit our daughter Miki who was on a mission team there; from there we took two days to drive to Wahbon Bay in Ontario to visit Dick’s brother Bob and family; a week later we took two days to drive to Chicago, where we visited the headquarters of Chapel of the Air (a radio ministry) and Institute in Basic Youth Conflicts; we left there at 3 PM (actually 4 PM with the time change), slept just a few hours in a motel in Ohio somewhere and were home by noon the next day. It was my family’s camping weekend, and we headed straight for the campground as soon as we picked up our tent, etc!! Last evening my legs and hips were complaining about the two-hour drive home from State College. I couldn’t help but wonder what has happened to me in these 21 years since that above-mentioned trip??!!

  3. I’m thankful that you are safely at home again! So many changes coming up for you~I certainly feel for you. It is good to have you home again!

  4. Your life certainly isn’t dull!  Perhaps, you earn for a little”dull”?

  5. Embrace life … even the changes.  It’s easier than fighting it … doesn’t help anyway.  Right?  Love you.

  6. Hello , I am sorry I was not on here the last while at all. I guess a lot of thing’s happen the last while now. GOD BLESS YOU ALL FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  7. Good afternoon! I enjoyed reading your post and catching up on your travels and your family. I also appreciate Oraganic_Survivor’s comment.  I sure need many stops and stretches when I travel  to avoid this “Sit-for-a-thousand-miles-syndrome”!
