Five days with Lem 3

We took a trip to fetch Youngest Son Home.
This was the misty valley, taken from THE GAP.

Five days with Lem 5

And Youngest Son barely stayed still long enough for a picture.
This was the only one I have of him all by himself!
(And it isn’t too flattering!)

Five days with Lem 1

Our Family made a trek to Red Lobster on Tuesday night for Supper.
Monday was Certain Man’s Birthday, and he loves seafood.
On the way home, these three crowded into the back of Beloved Son in Law’s Car.
Youngest Son, His Girlfriend, and Eldest Son
(Lem, Jessica, Raph)

Five days with Lem 2

And then we came home to a family game of Shang-hai.
Eldest Son was especially  verbal and viscious!
(Can’t you tell?)

Five days with Lem 9

Beloved Son in Law was forced to stand to get perspective on things!

Five days with Lem 6

Does he think that just because he is going away he has executive privilege?

Five days with Lem 4

Oh, well.  Not everyone can win!!!
(I was sitting across the table from this crew.  Youngest Son was beside me.  I should have moved so that I could have gotten some pictures of him.  He wasn’t necessarily behaving so well either!)

And now, For an Update on the “hole in my roof”
(“There’s a hole in my roof-
It’s the TRUTH!
I wouldn’t spoof. . . “)

I have some new lights!  Certain Man called for assistance, and
Uncle Jesse came on Thursday and put them right in for me, and I think they are beautiful!

My poor kitchen new lights

Now, if we can just get a drywall guy to come and repair the hole,
we will be in business!!!

  1. Your eldest son was drywall man in our bedroom last year, but I guess he’ll not be home long enough to do that for you.  Happy for your latest addition … the lights, I mean.

  2. Oh Mary Dear, I do love your pictures and I love people in them more!   The one of Jesse standing up captivated me.  Deborah’s expression as she is looking over his shoulder is priceless.  Thanks for sharing.  These are good times!

  3. What  wonderful memories you all were able to make before the family is apart again.

  4. Great pictures, even better memories. I’m not familiar with the game Shang-hai. When our children are all at home (which is very rare) we seem to always play “Dictionary”, which is the same as Balderdash, I think. You just don’t need a store-bought version the way we do it. We have had some outragiously hilarious times playing that game.

  5. Happy memories for all to take away with them and new lights for you to have at home!  I rather recognize that youngest son!  Wish our Iowa encounter could have been longer.

  6. ryc”Eldest Son was especially  verbal and viscious!”
So handsome yet “verbal” AND “viscious” that sounds like how Boy Genius can be. He leaves phone messages such as”Mom I know you’re there,Mom don’t make me come over there,Mom pick up the phone.” or “Mom quit playing games and answer the phone.” He often does that when he knows full well I am gone for the day when he calls. Sons are something else entirely aren’t they?Looks like great fun at your house! Nice lights! Looks like progress is being made. That pic of Lem alone could have fooled me as to who it was LOL All nice pictures,I feel like I’ve been to your home for a visit.

  7. What a journey you took us on… all the way from The GAp to the new lights in your kitchen! Too bad you can’t put a soundtrack on your site from the Shang-hai game, but then again, we may be better off without it! Precious family times!

  8. I’m glad you got your lights.  Very nice.  I hope your dry wall will be replaced soon.  Wonderful family time!  God Bless.

  9. These are the times we hold close to our hearts; then pull out to look at and savor the flavor later….when those we love are so many, many miles away and communication with them is slim to none….I remember.

  10. So you finally got that game of Shang-hai played! What better group could you have gotten together to play? You had been wanting that for a while hadn’t you? So glad you could “cement” those ties that bind with an enjoyable evening together. Blessings to you this week. L.

  11. Hello , Great picture’s now. Glad you had a great time on your trip now. GOD BLESS YOU ALL!!!
