Uncle David and Uncle Luke
This picture was taken today at my Uncle Luke’s house.
Uncle Luke, on the right, is my late father’s twin.
The oldest brother of Daddy and Uncle Luke is Uncle David (on the left)
NurseEd , one of Uncle David’s Grandsons,
made it possible for these two brothers to have some time together.
Thank you, Ed.
This is a best gift!

Our hearts are heavy tonight with the diagnosis that Uncle Luke has received.
ALS — Lou Gehrig’s Disease

I’m so proud of my cousins — his family.
They are united, committed, loving and wise.
I wish so much that the outlook would be brighter,
But they know the God of their father,
And they know where to go for comfort.

And even though this is a terrible, terrible thing,
It isn’t bigger than our incredible God.

“When you pass through the waters,
I will be with you.
And when you pass through the rivers,
They will not sweep over you.
When you walk through the fire,
You will not be burned;
The Flames will not set you ablaze.
For I am the LORD you God,
The Holy one of Israel,
Your Savior. . . ”

  1. My heart goes out to the family..  My dear daddy and a cousin had ALS and I know what that is like.  Daddy could talk to the end, but could not move anything but his big toe. His nerves were not affected but my cousins nerves were really raw and he could not talk so I will pray that Luke can have the best kind of ALS as possible (there is no such thing as the best kind, but some is more tolorable.)  Nurse Ed that was wonderful to arrange such a meeting..  Thanks for the picture.  Blessings to the family.           (Nanabea now OceanloverBea)

  2. What would we do – where would we be without the everlasting love and care of God?

  3. Most miserable if we didn’t have the love and care of God……….

  4. I don’t know what to say, Mary Ann, as an encouragement, except that God allows nothing to happen to us but that He gives us grace enough to make it through victoriously through Jesus Christ our Lord. Albert

  5. Amen and Amen!  Will be praying for you and yours – thanks for sharing!
